In the 'Boater' Home at the Campground

'BOATER' HOME

- ----Living on a trailer boat full-time for six years, and now for the past four years about 75% of the year, conjures up some questions for folks contemplating the same (or similar lifestyles). "What do you do when you are trailering between cruises?"

- ----Our answer is quick and simple, "We stay in campgrounds in our 'boater home,' and have most of the conveniences of the RV's around us and far more than the tenters."

-- Halcyon Ashore

-- ----- ----We have 'camped' hundreds of nights ashore on Halcyon, all over the US and Canada. I'm writing this now from a campground in northern Minnesota. Through our ten years on the boat, we have only been turned away once 'we have a rule that campers must be in tents or r.v.'s' so we went to another park five miles down the road.

----

-- ----- --We had an elderly woman knock on the side of boat, while we were in a state park. With a furrowed brow, she asked, "Did you hear something on the weather report we should know about?" I was tempted to say "My name is Noah," but she looked too serious and worried so only commented that we were staying on the boat while ashore for the night and changing waterways.
